Thanks for this post. I will be in Vietnam this May and would like to connect with other ESL teachers there to discuss their experiences. Do you have any recommendations on getting in touch with current ESL teachers in Hanoi or Hoi An?

Hi Sherry , I was wondering how much you made per month at ILA Vietnam (based on how many hrs. on average)? I'm considering applying. I'm between Taiwan and Vietnam and honestly looking for where I will be able to save the most money. Is it realistic to save $1000 a month working for ILA Vietnam? Any advice would be a huge a help. Thanks

Very interesting read. I spent two weeks in Ha Noi. I loved the place and the people. It is true, one feels very free there, though as a 40 year old male, my experience was a bit different. I plan to return there next year, but not for work.
